Last night on Man v. Food Adam ventured to our nation’s captial, Washington DC, to check out some of the local cuisine and attempt the Colassal Challenge at Chick & Ruth’s Delly. This challenge has 2 parts, the first part is 6 pounds of milkshake served in one of the biggest glasses I’ve ever seen. And to accompany your giant milkshake is your choice of either a 1 and 1/2 pound colassal burger or sandwich (not both). Each one of these sandwiches could be a challenge in itself, but they had to throw in the milkshake. 6 pounds of dairy and sugar inside of me would not sit too well, but then having to eat a huge sandwich on top of it, that’s insane. This challenge weighs in at over 7 pounds so I hope you’re hungry, Adam apparently was as he was only the 3rd person ever to complete the challenge at the time of taping.

In season 1 of Man v. Food the Malt Milkshake Challenge at Crown Candy Kitchen did not go over well with Adam. 5- 24 oz milkshakes in 30 minutes is quite a bit of dairy to be taking in. Have you ever tried to drink a gallon of milk in an hour? Well, if you haven’t I’m sure you still know the outcome, it’s not good. Not to mention the brain freeze you’re going to get from chugging ice cold milkshakes as fast as you can. My stomach is getting queasy just thinking about it. So if you’re not lactose intolerant and want a good ice cream challenge head on down to Crown Candy Kitchen in St. Louis and give the Malt Milkshake Challenge a run for it’s money.

The Avalanche Challenge, as it’s called, consists of a monstrous 42 scoop sundae that is sure to freeze your brain on a hot summer day.
