Buffalo’s Chicken Shack in New Jersey is holding their annual Spicy Wing Challenge and registration is now open! This is not your typical challenge, this is a race. Normally you would just be competing against the clock and/or your stomach, but this time you also have to compete against others. So do you think you have what it takes to be crowned the “Buffalo King”? Then make sure to sign up soon, the contest is being held on August 27, 2011 at 3PM. Buffalo’s Chicken Shack of Wood Ridge, NJ will be hosting its Second Annual “Spicy Wing Challenge” eating contest.  In this contest challengers will compete for the title of “Buffalo King” based on the challenger that can eat the largest amount of our spiciest wings within the given time limit.   These are Jumbo Buffalo Wings that will be sauced with Buffalo’s secret recipe “NUMB YA FACE” spicy buffalo sauce that is measured at more than 500,000 SHU.  There will be plenty of water, milk and ice on hand for the dropouts that’ll need special “cool me down” attention.   This will be a great and fun event for the challengers as well as spectators.

I know how you guys love wing challenges so I figured it was time to throw out another classic Man v. Food hot wing challenge, although in this case I may be a little late. I’m not sure if this challenge even exists anymore as the website for Quaker Steak and Lube now lists an even hotter wing sauce in their Triple Atomic Sauce which is supposedly 500,000 Scoville units where as the Atomic Sauce is only 150,000 Scoville units. I’ve also run into some conflicting reports regarding the rules of this challenge so please make sure to check with your server before you attempt this and if anyone has been there recently and knows if the challenge or rules have changed, please let us know so I can update this post.

It sure does seem that there are a lot of wing challenges out there for Adam to attempt, but despite the name of this one it didn’t seem like it was as bad as some of the others. These are jumbo wings as opposed to normal wings, they are also breaded which makes them a bit more to handle since the breading soaks up the hot sauce, but as far as hotness goes Adam didn’t seem to have that big of a problem with them. He went with an unorthodox, but smart, strategy of taking the first 8 minutes of his 15 minute time allotment to remove the wings from the bones so that he could eat them without getting hot sauce all over his face. This cut out the face burn factor which made the wing meat easier to eat in the end, and in the end he prevailed. But just because Adam was the 4th person to complete the challenge doesn’t mean that it’s an easy one, so give it a shot and let us know how you fair against the Ludicrous Wing Challenge!

Looking for a place to burn the taste buds right off your tongue, then Caliente in Richmond, VA is the place you want to be. On Man v. Food last night, Adam took on the challenge and successfully ate 8 of the Stupid Wings in under 30 minutes. And while it didn’t seem terribly difficult for him, another patron attempted to eat just 1 bite and couldn’t continue. Updated Rules: Commenter Tyler attempted the challenge the other day and was nice enough to post a rundown of the actual up to date rules: You get ONE glass to drink. You get ONE napkin. “Use it wisely,” as they say. You must keep down the food until you are paid and have left the restaurant.

Last night on Man v. Food Adam ventured back to his hometown of Brooklyn, NY to take on a challenge that was too much for him in a previous episode, but this time he was ready. The Suicide Six Wing Challenge at Buffalo Cantina in Brooklyn is so hot that the one guy Adam got to try a single wing was barely able to talk after eating it. But this time Adam was able to conquer this ridiculously spicy/hot challenge and got his revenge.

If you’re idea of a good Saturday night is going down to the local wing joint and guzzling a gallon of habenero sauce for 4 minutes then this is the challenge for you! Flamin Joes’ Widowmaker Wing Challenge is similar to some of the other Wing Challenges we’ve featured on the site, but you gotta love the challenge of not being able to eat or drink anything for 4 minutes prior to the challenge and 4 minutes after. They want you to feel that extra few minutes of burn before they reward you. They don’t call this the Widowmaker challenge for no reason, be prepared to sleep on the couch (or in the bathroom) that night. Good luck!

Virginia hasn’t been getting any love on the site yet so I figured it was time to add a challenge for those of you that live out there. And since wing challenges seem to be very popular, here you go, a wing challenge in Virginia. If you can handle the heat and want to step up to the Flatliner Wing Challenge then head on down to the Buffalo Wing Factory & Pub, they have 4 locations in Virginia so hopefully you’ll be able to find one in your area. Hot wing challenges seem to be pretty popular when it comes to food challenges and the Ghost Wing Challenge at Girvan Grille in Brooklyn Park, MN is no different. Based on their website it looks like the challenge only just started this year, but has already been conquered by a number of people. If you’re into hot and spicy, it doesn’t get much hotter than the ghost chile pepper so this challenge is definitely not for the faint of heart… or stomach.
