You didn’t think that just because Man v. Food didn’t actually do a challenge on the show last night that I wouldn’t give you a new one today did you? I wouldn’t do that to you, I know you’re hungry, and sticking with the North Carolina theme, I bring you Paventi’s Pizza Challenge. This monstrous pizza challenge has been attempted only 11 times according to their website and nobody has successfully completed it. So if you haven’t eaten in days and are not lactose intolerant then head on down to Paventi’s and give this thing a shot, it’s one of the few challenges that has an actual cash prize as well as the food for free.

The Doughman Race in Durham, NC

3. September 2009

Last nights episode of Man v. Food was a little different than most episodes. Instead of Adam attempting some ridiculous food challenge at the end of the show, him and 3 other people competed in The Doughman Race in Durham, NC. Essentially The Doughman Race is a triathlon that incorporates food either before, after or during each leg of the race, so technically a quadrathlon if you include eating as an event. For example, you would start by eating some sort of food and then swim a couple laps and then you would run a few miles to where you would then tag your partner who would jump on a bike and ride for a few miles, get off and eat a sandwich, jump back on the bike to make it to the next member of your group, and so on. It was an interesting competition to say the least, but I was kind of looking forward to an actual food challenge.  Never the less, if you are interested in competing in The Doughman Race next year, I’ve posted some more information below on where you can go to get all the details. And if you do partake in next years event make sure you send us pictures and videos. And of course all the proceeds go to a local charity, so it’s all worth it.
